Here is the 2022-23 NBA season detailed schedule of players, teams, timings, season-best player, prediction of the winning team, & Opening Matches of all teams. Read the full information of NBA season 2022-23 starting from October 19.
NBA Opening Day Fixtures
The 2022-23 NBA season will begin on Wednesday (today) at the TD Garden in Boston, the NBA opening day fixtures where the Boston Celtics will face the Philadelphia 76ers.
It will be another exciting season in which all teams will strive for victory.
The Eastern Conference will be led by the Boston Celtics and the Milwaukee Bucks, while Stephen Curry and LeBron James will lead the Western Conference.
Which NBA Clubs Are Currently Competing?
The NBA season 2022-23 will feature thirty teams separated into two Conferences – Eastern and Western. Each club will play 82 games over the long season.
After the group stage matches, the teams ranked first through sixth in each conference at the end of the season will be guaranteed a spot in the playoffs, while teams ranked seventh through tenth will compete in a play-in tournament, with only two of them making it to the playoffs.
NBA Players Ranking
MVP: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bucks
Since earning back-to-back MVP honors in 2019 and 2020, Antetokounmpo has finished in the top four in MVP voting every year.
He’s the finest player in the game and deserves to win this prize.
Antetokounmpo improved from a solid passer to a fantastic passer last season. He’s also grown into a more flexible defender, filling in as a center for parts of the 2021-22 season.
With Brook Lopez healthy and Joe Ingles returning from an ACL injury, the Bucks should have more shooting options surrounding Antetokounmpo.
It’s already impossible to stop falling and expanding up the court. Even more, it would make his life much more straightforward.
He’s going to have a fantastic year.
Rookie of the Year: Paolo Banchero, Magic
Banchero was far too talented for Summer League. He left after just two games. But then, he averaged 20 points per game and appeared ready for NBA action.
His bucket-list accomplishments are admirable, but his death got everyone talking.
It’s unknown if Banchero will be the top player in what appears to be a quality 2022 draft class. However, he will most likely be among the first to leave the starting gate.
I anticipate him to amass the most counting stats and win the honor.
Defensive Player of the Year – Rudy Gobert, Timberwolves
Gobert has received this award three times, the most recent in 2021. Last season, he finished third, although Utah’s defensive playoff disasters were still fresh in voters’ minds.
Gobert should have a stronger showing in Minnesota than he did in Utah. It’s been discussed extensively, but he had no defensive help with the Jazz.
He’s one of the NBA’s top rim protectors, but he can’t guard both the basket and the 3-point line simultaneously.
He won’t have to in Minnesota.
Sixth Man of the Year – Jordan Poole, Warriors
This honor usually goes to high-scoring players on winning teams—Poole ticks out both boxes.
The Warriors saw him have a breakout season in 2021-22, scoring 18.5 points per game.
With Klay Thompson’s return to total health, he will now return to the bench.
Poole was exploited defensively in the playoffs, but this is an award for the regular season. During the day-to-day grind, he won’t suffer assault nearly as often.
During the regular season, he also showed some natural defensive skills. Maybe he’ll become better at it this year.
Coach of the Year: Tyronn Lue, Clippers
Lue has yet to win a single Coach of the Year honor. Yet, he’s easily the finest play-caller in the league.
But, more than just an X and O expert, he understands how to inspire his teams and utilize the potential of his squads. Ask LeBron James.
The Clippers are going to be successful. However, lue finally deserves to receive these accolades at this moment.
NBA Playoffs Rounds
Eight teams will qualify for the playoffs, where there will be three rounds – Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Finals.
The top two teams from NBA Conference Playoffs will clash for the Larry O’Brien trophy in NBA Finals.
NBA Playoff Predictions 2022-23
Eastern Conference Playoff Teams
Western Conference Playoff Teams
Eastern Conference Champion: 76ers
The Sixers were a fantastic team last season, and they’ve addressed some of their significant flaws.
For example, when Embiid is on the bench, Tucker, Harrell, and a more seasoned Paul Reed provide innings-eating possibilities.
But, unfortunately, that has been their considerable Achilles’ heel.
The biggest worry for this team has to be the health of Embiid. If the Sixers can finally avoid bad luck, they can beat every other team in the East.
Western Conference Champion: Clippers
The Clippers’ roster is versatile enough to play a variety of styles in the playoffs.
They also have the league’s top coach in making changes. And they have the star power to carry them late in games.
That is essentially all of the things required for postseason success.
NBA Champion: Clippers
A series between the Clippers and the Sixers would be a massacre.
Embiid would have a field day, but the Clippers have a slew of players to throw at Harden and Tyrese Maxey to slow them down.
The Clippers also have a deep enough roster to absorb a few bumps and bruises. And I believe Lue would coach in circles around Doc Rivers.
The Clippers are my favorite to win it all.
The NBA season will feature thirty teams separated into two Conferences – Eastern and Western.
