With Rizwan striking the opening ball for a boundary and Babar Azam adding another one in the first over, Pakistan has made a great start in the chase. Kohli smashed a magnificent 60 just in 44 balls, including four boundaries and a six.
Kohli smashed a six over deep midwicket to reach the 50-run milestone. He was finally run out following a direct hit from deep by Asif Ali. Earlier, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul got things going well, scoring 54 runs in the first five overs.
However, India dropped several wickets, slowing their progress in the middle overs. Ravi Bishnoi hit two crucial boundaries, but Fakhar Zaman also contributed to India’s triumphant finale to their innings. Pakistan had won the toss and selected the bowl first.

But that partnership obviously went a little long and they batted brilliantly.

And we’re not surprised with that. We understand the pitch gets slightly better in the second innings”
“It’s good learning for us. I thought it was a good score. Any pitch, any conditions when you get 180 it’s a good score.
We got to learn a lot today – what sort of mindset we need to have when defending a score like that. Like I said you’ve got to give credit to Pakistan. They’ve played better than us,”
Rohit discussed Virat Kohli’s form,
“The form is brilliant (talking about Kohli). Needed someone to bat long when the others were getting out. He batted with that tempo as well.
Virat getting that score was crucial from the team’s point of view. Wickets of Hardik and Rishabh were not needed at that time. But we want to play with an open mindset. While taking that approach you’ll not always have success.”
“I didn’t fire today but Nawaz and Rizwan’s partnership was outstanding,” Babar Azam told reporters after he was out for a below-par 14-ball knock.
“Our spinners and fast bowlers at the death set the stage for us,”
he added.
