India vs Pakistan T20 Highlights World Cup 2022

Virat Kohli pulled off a heist and perhaps his finest T20 effort, propelling India to a thrilling four-wicket victory over Pakistan.

Despite three wickets from Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya, Pakistan managed 159/8. India struggled in response.

Hardik Pandya (40 off 37 balls) and Virat Kohli (82 off 53 balls) enabled India to reach the finish line, scoring 16 runs off the last over.

India has a two-point lead in Group 2 with this victory. While chasing 160, India got off to a bad start as opener KL Rahul returned to the pavilion after only four of eight balls by bowler Naseem Shah.

But, once again, the opener fell short in a critical match, his inside edge straight to stumps. At this moment, India was 7/1.

Indian Dashing Performance | Chase Master Virat Kohli Strikes Again

India had a second jolt when skipper Rohit struck a direct hit to Iftikhar Ahmed. Then, Haris Rauf took the captain’s wicket for 4 from 7 balls. After 3.2 overs, India trailed by two runs.

Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli are likely to form another partnership. Suryakumar began with a smooth straight shot and took three on the following ball.

Suryakumar looked strong, but Rauf took the big fish after stealing one off wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan.

Suryakumar went back in the pavilion for just 15 from 10 balls, dealing India another massive blow. In 5.3 overs, India was 26/3.

Axar Patel was the next batsman to bat. At the end of the powerplay after six overs, India was 31/3, with Virat (5*) and Axar (2*) at the crease.

Patel also walked back after an unlucky runout for only 2. As a result, India has fallen to 31/4.

Patel’s dismissal had Rizwan mishandling the runout and not entirely striking the stumps with the ball, but he got away with it.

Pandya and Kohli put India in command midway through their innings, even though singles continued without any boundaries.

In 10 overs, India was 45/4, with Virat (12*) and Pandya (7*) at the crease.

India reached 50 runs in 10.3 overs. At the start of the 12th over, Pandya struck Mohammad Nawaz for a big six, his first six of the innings.

After that, Nawaz smashed two more sixes, one of which was a direct shot by Virat, giving India a vital over in which they scored 20 runs. The pair put up a 50-run stand in 40 balls.

India reached the 100-run milestone after 15 overs. Virat (42*) and Hardik (32*) were at the crease when India reached 100/4.

Men in Blue staged a strong comeback thanks to these two, scoring 55 runs in the final five overs.

Rauf shifted momentum to Pakistan’s side with an economical 16th over that yielded six runs. India needed 54 points in 24 balls.

The following over yielded six runs, bringing the total to 48 from 18 balls.

Virat completed his half-century in 43 deliveries. The great hitter again shifted the tide in India’s favor, assisting the team in scoring 17 more runs.

Men in Blue required 31 points from 12 balls. After Rauf controlled the 19th over, Virat flipped the script with two sixes in two balls. In the last over, India required 16 runs.

Virat Kohli won Player of the Match for his match-winning unbeaten 82-run hit off 53 balls, including 6-fours and four sixes with a strike rate of 154.71

Indian Captain Rohit Sharma’s Words

“I was in the dressing room. I’m out of words. You’d anticipate something like this in a game like this. We wanted to remain in the game as long as possible.

That essential relationship was a game changer for us. Those two men have a lot of experience. It was vital to be cool and take the game seriously.

This is good for our self-esteem. It’s always important to get started like this. We had no chance of winning. It has to be Virat’s finest knock for India.”

Pakistan Captain Babar Azam

“Our bowlers bowled well. All credit to Kohli and Pandya. It wasn’t easy with the new ball. We had partnerships after 10 overs.

We had a chance. We tried to stick to our plans. But credit to Virat Kohli. We decided we wanted a wicket in the middle and held the spinner back.”

Virat Kohli | Man of the Match

It’s a weird environment; I don’t know what to say or how it happened. I’m at a loss for words. Hardik felt we could pull it off if we stayed to the finish.

We planned to take Shaheen Afridi down when he bowled from the pavilion end. Haris is their best bowler, and I smashed two sixes off him.

Mohali was my finest innings against Australia till now. I’m going to count this one higher today.

Hardik continued to push me. The audience has been incredible. I am grateful to fans for your continued support.

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya was emotional while celebrating the team’s impressive victory against arch-rival Pakistan in yesterday’s Twenty20 World Cup.
