India vs South Africa 2nd T20I Highlights, India defeated South Africa by 16 runs despite David Miller's century, thanks to a batting partnership between opener KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav.

On Sunday, India defeated South Africa by 16 runs in a high-scoring second T20I to take a 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

India batted first and posted a massive 237 for three, riding on a solid batting display by the top four, before returning to restrict the visitors to 221 for three in the allotted 20 overs.

These are India’s final two Twenty20 Internationals before flying to Australia on October 6 to compete in the T20 World Cup 2022.

After that, India’s first competitive match will be against arch-rival Pakistan on October 23.

The team is going to get used to the conditions two weeks ahead of time.

Mohammad Siraj, who replaced the injured Jasprit Bumrah for the remaining two T20Is, could be used by India.

With Mohammed Shami still not fully recovered from Covid (there has been no update on his health), head coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit would like to give Siraj two matches to see how he performs.

If Bumrah cannot recover in time and Shami (another standby for the World Cup) is also unable to play, Siraj could fly for the big event.

South Africa has everything covered. They are a fantastic team with no injury concerns.

They got off to a bad start on a pitch that wasn’t suitable for T20 cricket, but they’d surely come back with a better performance.

Even though the conditions in Australia will be vastly different from those in India, these three matches are excellent warm-ups for both teams.

KL Rahul | Man Of The Match: India vs South Africa 2nd T20I Highlights

It is satisfying to have two contrasting knocks in the first two games.
As an opener, it is critical to understand your expectation on any given day & to provide it to you all.

It is the mindset I have always played and will continue to play. But, on the other hand, it’s satisfying to put yourself through various tests.

After the first two overs, my conversation with Rohit was that the pitch was gripping.

We thought 180-185 would be a good range to shoot. However, the game surprises us.

Surya should have received the Man of the Match award instead of me. He altered the rules.

Having batted in the middle order, I know how difficult it is. DK doesn’t always get to face too many balls, and he was fantastic, as were Surya and Virat.

The first ball’s back-foot punch set me up. I have good balance when I play both sides of the wicket. It indicates that my head is stable.

In India, crowds are always present. Stadiums filled with fans for the first time in a long time. It’s incredible to witness.

Winning Captain Rohit Sharma: India vs South Africa 2nd T20I Highlights

On this batting approach, we all came together and said it was what we wanted to do as a team.

It may not always be clear, but we intend to stick to it. Individuals putting their hands up and getting the job done for the team is what I’ve seen in the last 8-10 months.

Guys with little experience did the same thing. We want to give the team the confidence to play and bowl in a particular manner.

Yes, we have not bowled well in the last five or six games at the death overs. We’re doing the same to the opposition.

It isn’t easy to bowl and bat at the end of a game. That is where the game is won or lost.

It is not a cause for concern, but we must pick ourselves up and get our act together.

I’m thinking about not playing Suryakumar anymore and instead playing him directly on the 23rd.

We only want to keep him happy; that’s how we have to play the game.

David Miller | India vs South Africa 2nd T20I Highlights

Quinton struggled early on but managed to bat through and give us a chance. He’s a capable batter who can hit fours and sixes, so it was just a matter of getting in.

As you can see, we were only 16 runs short. After the game, he (De Kock) approached me and said, ‘Well played, I’m sorry.’

It was a fantastic wicket, and India put us under pressure immediately.

We had to start from the first ball, and the freedom allowed us to express ourselves.

KL Rahul (57) and Rohit Sharma (43) set the tone for India with a 96-run opening stand at the Barsapara cricket stadium.

Suryakumar Yadav (61) then took center stage, smashing five boundaries and as many sixes on his way to a 102-run stand with Virat Kohli off just 40 balls (49 not out).

Dinesh Karthik then hit some lusty blows in his seven-ball, 17-ball innings.

Keshav Maharaj (2/23) was South Africa’s most successful bowler, but it was a disastrous day for the rest of his bowling colleagues.
