Captains Speech After The Match

Sri Lanka Skipper Dasun Shanaka expressed,

“The team’s surroundings established the tone. It was the source of our confidence. We won because of our hitting lineup. Dilshan and Theekshana, in particular, bowled brilliantly in parts.”

“The Indian batters came at us hard, but we held them to 173.” After the first game, we had a good talk. We know what we’re capable of in this tournament. Pathum and Mendis established the tone, and Rajapaksa and I brought it home.

Chamika bowls four overs for us because of the squad composition, so I don’t have to bowl my entire quota of overs. I only have to make judgments based on what the team requires.”

Rohit Sharma on the defeat:

“We haven’t lost many games since the previous World Cup. These games will educate us. In the Asia Cup, we intended to put ourselves under strain. We are still seeking answers.”

The India skipper also reserves special praise for young Arshdeep.

“Arshdeep deserves a lot of credit for bowling in the end and bowling so well. Chahal and Bhuvi are the elder pros who have been at it for quite some time. I need to hear from the younger generation.”

“We just landed up on the wrong side, nothing more. We might have taken advantage of the early part of our innings. We came up 10-15 runs short. The second half was a disaster for us.

The men who were in the centre can learn about the several shots that can be played. These things can occur. Losses like this will teach us how to function as a team.”

From two balls, two are needed. Rajapaksha is on the other end of the strike by Shanaka. India nearly won the match with the last ball. But they continued to miss and miss.

Arshdeep missed Shanka’s bat’s edge by a millimetre, and the ball went to wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant.

Shanaka moved to the non-striker in a last-ditch effort to get. Pant had a good view of the three sticks and a chance to catch Rajapaksha on the move.

He threw the ball while aiming, but it missed the mark. Arshdeep, who was mid-pitch in his follow-through, caught the ball. The pitcher observed Shanaka attempting to advance to the non-end. striker’s
