West Ham vs Bournemouth Highlights
In West Ham vs Bournemouth, West Ham defeated Bournemouth 2-0 at the London Stadium thanks to a questionable header from Kurt Zouma and a late penalty from Said Benrahma.
Although the Hammers had the better opportunities in the first 40 minutes of a feisty first half, they could not take advantage of them.
The finest opportunity for Bournemouth to strike quickly came in the 38th minute when Tomas Soucek carelessly threw the ball away in midfield.
It allowed Dominic Solanke to counter and travel the entire field before requiring Lukasz Fabianski to make a save.
Just before halftime, Soucek headed a corner goalward for West Ham, and Kurt Zouma needed to do nothing more than flip it into the net.
Although Thilo Kehrer handled the ball during the goal’s setup, a VAR review determined that it was an accident, and the goal stood.
As Bournemouth struggled and lost Dominic Solanke and Neto to injury, West Ham continued to control the game in the second half.
The home team’s star player, Said Benrahma, repeatedly took close shots and found his teammates in scoring positions, but the Hammers didn’t add a second goal until late in the game.
West Ham vs Bournemouth Match Report
46 – Goal! West Ham vs Bournemouth 1-0: Kurt Zouma, the ball enters from a corner.
Although Bournemouth can clear the ball, Soucek’s looping header is then redirected into the goal by Zouma. A VAR review occurs for a blatant handball on Kehrer, but the goal stands.
60 – Rice Hits One: The crowd chants “Shoot” as the ball lands by Rice at the edge of the box. Travers saves the ball after he chests the ball down on his foot.
77 – How has that Not Gone In?! Here at the London Stadium, Bournemouth just wasted the most accessible opportunity to tie the game! Fabianski fails to catch the ball after attempting to grab a cross.
Tavernier missed the ideal chance to slam it into an empty net because he moved too slowly.
Given that the referee sounded his whistle for Lerma’s foul on Fabianski, the goal might not have stood in any case.
92 – Goal! West Ham 2-0 Bournemouth – Benrahma scores the penalty. He drives it into the upper left corner, fooling the goalkeeper.
He was the most outstanding player on the field today, so he deserved that goal.
The visitors will feel unjustly treated, particularly after the Zouma goal had a clear handball that went unnoticed.

West Ham vs Bournemouth Talking Point – Handball or not?
The Premier League is involved. When are the referees not the talking point? Don’t get me wrong, West Ham arguably deserved to win that game, but Bournemouth will feel unfairly treated, considering the judgments made by the VAR team and referee David Coote.
In the build-up to Zouma’s goal, there was a blatant handball, and Kehrer nearly made the West Ham symbol of the two hammers with his arms as he pushed the ball toward the goal’s direction.
The last-second penalty call was also questionable because Zemura seemed to have been handled by Coote.
The ball undoubtedly hit his hands, but since the player was sliding for a block, it was challenging to know what he should have done. He can’t possibly be flying into a tackle with his arms behind his back.
After the game, Bournemouth manager Gary O’Neil spoke with Coote briefly before leaving, and now there is yet another referee issue in the Premier League.
Player Of The Match in West Ham vs Bournemouth | Said Benrahma
Even though Benrahma’s goal came from a last-second penalty, the West Ham forward was in perfect control of the attacking play.
He played with tremendous confidence while creating chances, finding space, and taking fantastic shots, sending Bournemouth’s defense into a tailspin.
David Moyes wanted the forward to prove his value because he had previously criticized him and had reinstated him to the starting XI. He undoubtedly went above!
