Just before halftime, Soucek headed a corner goalward for West Ham, and Kurt Zouma needed to do nothing more than flip it into the net.

Although Thilo Kehrer handled the ball during the goal’s setup, a VAR review determined that it was an accident, and the goal stood.

As Bournemouth struggled and lost Dominic Solanke and Neto to injury, West Ham continued to control the game in the second half.

The home team’s star player, Said Benrahma, repeatedly took close shots and found his teammates in scoring positions, but the Hammers didn’t add a second goal until late in the game.

In the build-up to Zouma’s goal, there was a blatant handball, and Kehrer nearly made the West Ham symbol of the two hammers with his arms as he pushed the ball toward the goal’s direction.

The last-second penalty call was also questionable because Zemura seemed to have been handled by Coote.

The ball undoubtedly hit his hands, but since the player was sliding for a block, it was challenging to know what he should have done. He can’t possibly be flying into a tackle with his arms behind his back.

After the game, Bournemouth manager Gary O’Neil spoke with Coote briefly before leaving, and now there is yet another referee issue in the Premier League.

Even though Benrahma’s goal came from a last-second penalty, the West Ham forward was in perfect control of the attacking play.
