India Not Panicked After Asia Cup Goof Up
India has not panicked despite its failure to reach the Asia Cup final after two consecutive defeats in the Super Four stage.
It has decided to keep most of the players who travelled to Dubai.
They only made three changes to the roster from the Asia Cup, all of which were inevitable.
Arshdeep Singh, who had a nightmare against Pakistan in the first Super Four game, has been given the long rope by India.
But, with his left-arm pace, the 23-year-old adds a missing dimension to the pace attack and can nail the yorkers into death.
Deepak Hooda and Dinesh Karthik also make the flight to Australia. Despite the Asia Cup’s shuffle, the two players could be critical finishers in the big tournament next month.
Bumrah-Patel Revitalize India
The returning duo of Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel, two lynchpins of the pace attack in the shortest format, are two of the three changes from the Asia Cup squad.
With their return, the pace attack will be fully operational in time for the T20 World Cup.
Bumrah missed the Asia Cup in the UAE due to a back injury, while Harshal is out with a side strain.
However, both players have been rehabilitated at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru and are fully fit.
Rohit Sharma will have a well-rounded pace attack at the World Cup with Bumrah, Harshal, Arshdeep, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Hardik Pandya.
Shami In Pipeline
With only a few spots available in the pace attack, Mohammad Shami, Deepak and Chahar went to the standby list.
Shami received the support of several former players, including Ashish Nehra, on the ICC Review show, after a stellar performance in the IPL.
As the coach of the Gujarat Titans in this year’s IPL, Nehra looked closely at Shami, who finished with 20 wickets in 16 matches and an economy rate of 8.
Last year, Shami was a World Cup squad member, taking six wickets in five matches at an economy rate of 8.84.
This year, India has chosen to go with Harshal and Arshdeep.
Injury Made Jadeja Out
Ravindra Jadeja, reportedly out with a knee injury, is the third – and forced – change from the Asia Cup squad.
He was a part of India’s two group-stage victories but missed the Super Four stage, which the team eliminated.
Axar Patel is his like-for-like replacement for the Asia Cup, also named to the T20 World Cup squad. Axar has proven himself with the bat and the ball in the few opportunities he has had.
India could choose to play him directly in the XI, but they also have the option of playing Deepak Hooda, who has off-spin and could be the sixth bowling option.
Experience Over Youth
India’s World Cup spin attack will consist of Yuzvendra Chahal and Axar Patel.
However, India chose experience over youth in Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravi Bishnoi, with the latter called on the standby list.
The decision to select Ashwin because he is the only frontline finger-spinner may not be as straightforward.
Bishnoi relies heavily on the googly and can take the ball away from the left-hander with his angles, as evidenced by his IPL and short international career.
Ashwin can also contribute with the bat, which may have swayed the decision in his favour during the squad selection process.
This is the BIG TIME!
Let's look at the likely teams qualifying for the top four and eventually winning the ICC T20 World Cup in 2022.
Team India
In the previous edition, Team India had a season to forget.
The men in blue could not advance to the knockout stage after suffering a thrashing defeat in their first match against arch-rivals Pakistan cricket team, followed by a loss to New Zealand.
India, on the other hand, will undoubtedly be one of the favourites to win the championship.
However, the team appears to have found footing under new captain Rohit Sharma.
Given that he has relinquished the captaincy, Virat Kohli is capable of playing fearless cricket.
As a result, India can destroy any opposition.
If they can keep their cool and play their perfect game in the park, They’ll be one of the teams to stream in the icc cricket world cup.
Team Pakistan
Pakistan’s performance was outstanding in the recently concluded ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021. Babar Azam’s team demonstrated to the world that they were capable enough.
Pakistan was the only team in the league stage that never lost a game, winning five consecutive games.
However, they failed Australia in the semi-final match, dashing all of their fans’ hopes.
Their batting order has shown tremendous discipline with Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Hafiz, Shoaib Malik, and others.
In addition, they have one of the best pace attacks in the league, with Shaheen Shah Afridi, Hasan Ali, and others firing on all cylinders.
Therefore, the teams cannot afford to take Pakistan lightly this time.
Team Australia
The defending ICC T20 World Cup 2021 champions, Australia, will be the favourite to win the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.
The team led by Aaron Finch demonstrated why they are the best.
Australians have one of the strongest batting lineups in the league, with David Warner, Finch, Maxwell, Wade, Stoinis, and others.
Australia’s bowling attack, particularly its pace bowlers, can dismantle any opponent’s bowling attack.
The fact that the tournament will hold in their backyard, where Australia has always dominated, will be a huge advantage.
Team England
England is the fourth team with a good chance of winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2022.
The team Eoin Morgan led dominated most of the previous edition, but they could not defeat New Zealand in the semi-finals.
Nevertheless, England is the most dangerous team on paper.
They bat deep and have bowlers who can hit the deck hard and generate extra bounce off Australian wickets.
England has the firepower to win the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2022 if they play to their potential.
The most important takeaways from India’s ICC T20 World Cup 2022 squad
A lot has changed for India since the last ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Oman and the UAE last year, including the leadership.
Captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid are all set to lead India in their first The ICC event will be in Australia in October.
The return of two-star pacers boosts Indian hopes, but they will be without their ace all-rounder.
Who Will Win the 2022 Cricket World Cup?
Only two of these four teams will advance to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup finals in 2022.
However, given their x-factor, playing in their backyard, and the enthusiastic fans, Australia will be one of the favourites to reach the mega-final on November 13.
Regarding the second team, we expect India to be eager to prove their critics wrong by playing fearless cricket and reaching the finals under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma.
The winner is difficult to predict, but we believe India will win the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2022.
However, given the number of upsets in cricket’s shortest format, you should not be surprised to see another team lift the trophy.
