The publication reports “an increase of 111% in the involvement of players across various categories” in the eight years between 2014 & 22.
This indicates a significant gain on the domestic front. According to a further breakdown, the number increased by 129% for senior ladies and 92% for those under 19.
The Women IPL and the proposed WPSL will be T20 leagues that help women’s cricket gain popularity and expand internationally, joining the FairBreak Invitational, the Women’s Hundred, the WCPL, and the WBBL.
The WIPL document also mentioned that before deciding on its strategy, the BCCI had researched both the WBBL and the Women’s Hundred models.
